Information trouvée : Harold Alexander 1891- 1969 Harold Rupert Alexander. During World War I, he commanded
a battalion on the Western front. In World War II, Alexander led the I Corps, and
was the last man to leave the beach at Dunkirk. Alexander went on to command British
forces in North Africa, leading them to complete victory. He commanded the invasions
of both Sicily and Italy. After the capture of Rome in 1944, he became the Supreme
Allied Commander of the Mediterranean.
