Information trouvée : It is with great sadness that we report the death of our revered colleague Margaret (“Margie”) C. Morrison. She passed away on Saturday, January 9. Morrison joined our department in 1989, after teaching at Stanford University and the University of Minnesota. She had earned her PhD in 1987 from the University of Western Ontario. In 1992 she received tenure, gaining promotion to the rank of full professor in 1998. She retired in 2019. Margie Morrison was one of the world’s most distinguished philosophers of science, best known for her work on models in science (both in physics and biology) and for her work on unification in physics.
