Information trouvée : décès 2003 James P. Shenton, a Columbia University historian who helped New Jersey win jurisdiction over Ellis Island, died Friday of complications following heart surgery. He was 78. A noted scholar of American history, Shenton advised the state of New Jersey in its lawsuit against New York over Ellis Island. The Supreme Court awarded the island to New Jersey in 1998.
