Directeur : Benjamin Franklin high school, East Harlem, New York (1934). Après sa retraite, s'occupa des personnes âgées. Fondateur : East Harlem day care center for older persons (1952). Président : East Harlem committee on aging. S'installa en Sicile en 1972 à l'invitation du réformateur social Danilo Dolci pour travailler dans le centre fondé par celui-ci
