Note sur la biographie et les activités : 
Musée ouvert en 1840 dans le Cockerill Building de l'université de Cambridge par Adam Sedgwick à partir des collections léguées par John Woodward (1665-1728). La construction d'un nouveau bâtiment a été décidée par Tom McKenny Hughes (1832 - 1917) et l'actuel Sedgwick Museum, à Downing Street, a ouvert ses portes le 1er mars 1904
