Information trouvée : David Bailey specialises in competition and EU law. He has appeared in a number of
notable competition cases at the Bar. He acted for the European Commission in defending
its decisions in Ryanair/Aer Lingus, Lundbeck, Servier and Power Cables. He is acting
for HSBC, Bank of America and Facebook in challenging Commission decisions in, respectively,
Euribor, European Government Bonds and Facebook data. He is currently instructed in
various competition disputes in the Competition Appeal Tribunal and High Court, including
the claims for damages in Trucks, FX, Smart Card Chips and RoRo. He has also appeared,
both led and unled, for the Competition and Markets Authority, including in the appeals
against the CMA’s decisions in Paroxetine, Phenytoin, Liothyronine and Hydrocortisone.
David is Standing Counsel to the UK Competition and Markets Authority and the Hong
Kong Competition Commission. He won the Chambers & Partners Bar Awards as Competition
Junior of the Year in 2020 and 2023. He is the co-author of Whish and Bailey’s Competition
Law (10th edition, 2021), and a general editor of Bellamy & Child’s European Union
Competition Law (8th edition, 2019). He is also a Professor of Practice in Competition
Law at King's College London.
