Research scientist at CNRS (Institut Européen des membranes de Montpellier) (CR, section
15) from October 2013. Martin DROBEK obtained his Ing. (MSc.) degree in 2004 at the
Institute of Chemical Technology Prague (Czech Republic) graduating in the field of
stereoselective hydrogenations on chiral complexes applied in homogeneous phase or
heterogenized on various inorganic matrixes. In 2008 he was awarded a doctorate degree
in Chemistry and Chemical Technology with the work focused on the synthesis and applications
of phthalocyanine molecules in photocatalytical or non-photocatalytical decomposition
(ICT-Prague and Research Centre of Organic Syntheses-Pardubice, Czech Republic). At
the same time he also studied the structural and functional characterization of advanced
films based on either TiO2 nanoparticles or phthalocyanine molecules (Research Centre
of Nanosurface Engineering, Czech Republic). After his Ph.D. studies Dr. Martin DROBEK
obtained a post-doctoral position at the Institut Européen des Membranes (IEM-Montpellier)
for working on various subjects in the field of membrane science including ceramic
membrane synthesis and surface modification for oil/water separations, ultrafiltration
of seawater, VOC capture, but also gas separation and pervaporation. In addition to
his intensive work on MFI zeolite membranes (up-scalable on commercial ceramic capillaries
in collaboration with CEPAration-The Netherlands) he investigated a variety of other
membrane materials for gas separation, including other molecular sieves such as amorphous
silicon carbide or MOFs, but also mixed-matrix and composite polymer-ceramic membranes.
In May 2015, his scientific production included a co-authorship of 26 scientific papers
and proceedings, 2 book chapters, 1 patent and presentation of over 20 oral communications
at national and international congresses.
